Today we are sharing some thoughts from one of our recent home buyers Wendy Hyde. When it comes to homes Wendy really knows her stuff, as owner of THIS blog Wendy spends a lot of time thinking about what makes a home and neighborhood great and with all that expertise it’s no wonder she decided to buy Ivory.
From Wendy:
I’ve always loved the idea of living in a storybook neighborhood. You know, the kind you see in movies where costumed children scramble from house to house on Halloween and each door welcomes them with seasonal décor! I’ve wanted to live in the neighborhood where families wave to one another from the sidewalk and where the kids all gather for a massive game of freeze tag.
I was first drawn to my Ivory neighborhood by the fact that it is attractive. The houses are pretty, and there is an evident pride of ownership. My particular street is a little different from the norm, as all the houses face one another with a large common grass area in the middle. It reminded me of a little village and I found the idea to be quite charming. This feature has actually turned out to be one of my favorite parts of owning my house. The common area is a wonderful gathering place, and the kids do play freeze tag and any other number of imaginative games out there where I know that they are safe and can be easily seen from my front windows.
In my neighborhood, yard maintenance is included in the HOA which is a huge plus for me because I am a single parent and having yard care removed from my list of chores allows me to spend more time with my family. (Now if they’d only add chefs and house cleaners to the included amenities, I’d be in heaven!)
All in all, my neighborhood is a perfect fit for me and my family. And the great thing about Ivory is the fact that they have different sorts of neighborhoods to fit each individual’s ideal. I love the fact that Ivory is not a “one size fits all” builder. And the proof for me is the fact that my house and neighborhood are not too big and not too small…they are just right. Just like in a storybook.
