Do you ever wish you could fly south for the winter? When you feel claustrophobic and trapped indoors during a cold, stormy day or snowy night, know that countless others feel just the same way. Many locations throughout the country get very cold during the long winter, which entices scores of people to flock to a warmer climate.
If a sunny retreat sounds appealing to you, then the homes in St. George, Utah are a must see. Ivory Homes offers both townhomes and single-family homes, with a wide variety of styles, sizes and layouts at unbelievable prices. And if you currently live along the Wasatch Front, the drive south is only a few hours. Take it from me—the location, climate and homes are worth the trip!
Last summer my husband and I were able to take such a trip to St. George and stayed in a gorgeous, luxurious Ivory home while we were there at Hidden Valley, a well-known Club Ivory community. It was relaxing, revitalizing and so much fun, to say the least. To help you imagine what it would be like to own one of Ivory’s beautiful homes in St. George, I wanted to paint a picture of what those few days were like for us…
The afternoon we arrived, we “oohed and aahed” as we toured the dazzling home we were to stay in. It was classy, comfortable and very beautiful. I knew immediately that I’d be reluctant to leave when our time was up. After resting for a little bit, we drove to a grocery store to pick up something for dinner. We brought home some steaks, corn on the cob and other mouth-watering food to cook in the deluxe kitchen. I loved the counter space and roomy layout as we prepared our feast.
We woke up in the morning to the golden sun making its way up the blue, cloudless sky. While it was still cool, we took the short drive to a trailhead on the striking red rocks to go on a little hike. The most unusual shapes and colors can be found in those red hills—I’ll never get tired of them. After we got back from the hike we craved a refreshing dip in the pool, so we went down the street to the lovely Club Ivory pool and took a swim. It was heavenly and that day we enjoyed the whole pool to ourselves! Eventually we pulled ourselves out to shower then relax back at home. As all St. George homes should, the excellent air conditioning and insulation allowed us to take naps and read a good book inside the cool house during the hottest parts of the day.
Another great feature of this Club Ivory community is the well-known Hidden Valley Park, including a big splash pad and tennis, basketball and volleyball courts. We went there one evening to try our hand at flying a kite, using the grassy field as our runway. Later that night we kicked our feet back and watched a fun movie in the comfortable family room. One afternoon we explored the city, went to a movie and shopped at the outlets where we found some great deals. Later we took an evening walk outside, enjoying the starry skies. The neighborhood felt safe, quiet and friendly. The next night we went to dinner, then drove 45 minutes to Cedar City to watch a play at the Shakespeare Festival, which was very entertaining. I never wanted this trip to end!
As you can imagine from my description of our stay, owning a permanent home in St. George would be enjoyable all year long. And for those who prefer a winter retreat or vacation home, that is another excellent option. Ivory’s beautiful Hidden Valley neighborhood provides a fun, relaxing environment to enjoy with your family and friends. The homes offered are well designed and stylish, with incredibly affordable prices. And as I experienced, there are so many great things to do in and around St. George.
