Sometimes we like to talk ourselves out of things, it's human nature.  Buying your first new home shouldn't be one of those things.  We often ask ourselves, "Are we going to be approved?" "Is it unrealistic to think that we could be denied?" Put away the worry cap and put yourself into action. Odds are you may be renting,  did you know that what you're paying in rent in this market could be the as much as a house payment?  Now is the time to put your money into action and start building equity, rather than paying rent, month after month.

Where to start?

Take a good look at your credit.  With sites like Credit Karma, it is easy to see what your current score is, and how to dispute anything that may be wrongfully on your report. In fact, even if you have some credit issues or worries, odds are Ivory Homes' Financial Fitness will be able to help you, get your credit score to the right place.

Financial Documentation can add up quickly and feel like a bit of a burden,  but with today’s tight credit, having this ready for your lender could help you get into your new home even faster. You’ll want to keep track of your bank account statements,  W-2’s, Tax Returns for up to the last two years along with a few past pay stubs.  Have these ready to show your lender.

Did you know that most new home builders will take care of closing costs if you use their preferred Lender?
